Tourist Attractions and Businesses Close to River Gardens Axedale

There are dozens of things to do and places to visit within minutes of River Gardens Axedale. This page will give you a starting point for ideas of what you may like to do whilst staying at our premier bed and breakfast.

On the River Gardens Property

  • Enjoy tea or coffee in the gardens.
  • Spend some time in the farm shop. (Opening late 2017)
  • Feed the chickens and collect the eggs. Feed the goats.
  • Explore the 133 acre property - creek, Campaspe river frontage, rocky outcrops and small forest.
  • Photograph native birds and animals along the river.
  • Fish the Campaspe river for Murray Cod, Golden Perch, English Perch and European Carp.

The Campaspe river at River Gardens has an average depth of two to four metres. River Gardens is at the end of a kilometre long hole that never goes dry. Access to the river from the property is reasonably easy. A Victorian Fishing License is required.

Murray Cod to 10 kilos have been caught and released again. Golden Perch to 3 kilos are not unusual. Lures and bait both work well. Bait yabbies may be caught in the river but they are not in big numbers.
