Following are the most asked questions about River Gardens farm stay bed and breakfast at Axedale.

How many B&B guests do you cater for?
The self-contained unit can accomodate up to 4 guests however we have trundle beds available for additional guests if needed. The Motel Room can accomodate 2 guests with the option of adding additional trundle bed if needed.
Can I bring my kids?
Yes. Children are more than welcome, however must be supervised at all times by an adult as this is a working farm on the Campaspe River. There are animals, dams, ponds and creeks on the property as well as other varying landscape that may pose a risk to children.
Are pets permitted?
Yes. Pets are welcome at an additional cost. Pets must be supervised by owners at all times and must not pose a risk to the local farm animals and wildlife.
Is smoking permitted in rooms?
No.
Is there a minimum night stay?
Only on long weekends and holiday times. All other times of the year can be booked for one night stays.
What kind of fish could I catch?
Cod, golden perch, redfin, trout and carp. You will need to have a valid Victorian angling licence. You can purchase one online.
Can we feed the animals and collect eggs?
You certainly can. The animals are friendly and the chickens are good layers.
When are your rose gardens open to the public?
currently the rose gardens are open to the public by appointment only. Please contact us to enquire.
What is the cost of entry to the rose gardens?
The cost is $8 per adult. Children gain access for free.
Do you sell refreshments at your open garden days?
Yes we do. A Devonshire Tea is our specialty. There are also cold drinks available.
What does your Farm Shop sell?
Local preserves, farm produce, eggs and some plants. What we have available depends on the time of year and weather.
